John D'Angelico's Teardrop guitar. Built in 1957 for Pete Girardi who played in a band called The Teardrops. I can't imagine a more elegant guitar. According to collector, Scott Chinery, the best acoustic guitar he'd ever heard. Purchased for $150,000 in 1993. Or about $327,678.89 today. #guitartown

Actors! Over-acting. One vintage 1870s Martin guitar on loan beyond repair. 2015 or so -- still makes me flinch. Loaning guitars is just asking for heartbreak. Call me anal-Germanic but mine are in mint condition. Only a few people that I'd even let touch 'em. Learned the hard way.
