The crowd here in the joint meeting between the House and Senate Education is predictably smaller than it was this morning, but there's still a big crowd. Each person speaking against the bill is limited to three minutes—so the committee will likely be here for a bit. #SB246 #HB1512

We're back in the joint meeting between House and Senate Ed, now hearing from those who've signed up to speak against ACCESS (#SB246 and #HB1512).

It's my understanding the sponsors are amending the bill to address the free-speech concerns for K-12.

I don’t know that I’d say #SB246 and #HB1512 are “moving at high speed.” Both were filed last Monday, and neither moved last week. I also wouldn’t say the speed at which they might run is meant to “overwhelm public opposition.” Republican lawmakers rarely let public opposition stop them.
