An event poster for our next Arts With Impact Lecture, hosted by the Department of Anthropology and the Linguistics Program at Saint Mary's University. This free event is in Paul O'Regan Hall, Halifax Central Library, April 13 from 2-4 pm and all are welcome.

The poster includes a photo of guest speaker Dr. Christine Schreyer, a linguistic anthropologist and creator of the constructed languages Kryptonian, Atlantean, Beama and Elatrian. In her public talk, she'll discuss her research as well as the languages she has created for movies and television.

Dr. Schreyer is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at the Irving K. Barber Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at UBC-Okanagan. She has collaborated with the Taku River Tlingit First Nation on various initiatives for the past two decades and is now involved in a project to document the journey toward preserving their linguistic heritage.
