In the #HarvardWriters2018 creativity workshop this afternoon, we were told to find the time of day that we wrote best. It's no surprise that my brain works best in the dead of night. No sunlight, no noise, no distractions. Just pure GSD. I'm #TeamNightShift on all levels.

Lady docs night in Boston’s North End at #HarvardWriters2018. If you’re wondering, @ERGoddessMD is just as outgoing and fiesty in person and @BetaMomma really is a pocket-sized bundle of inspiration. I just loved meeting these ladies!

Finally heading back to NC after two amazing conferences: #AANconference and #HarvardWriters2018. I'm super excited and inspired but I also really, really need to be in my own bed right now.

#HarvardWriters2018 workshop on maximizing creativity: @DrShelleyCarson gave us a quiz to find out whether our brains were more deliberate or spontaneous. I was dismayed to find my results were evenly split 50/50 until we learned more about the creative process. 👌🏻

@DrShelleyCarson gave us a quiz at #HarvardWriters2018 during our workshop on creativity.

Am I a deliberate or spontaneous thinker?

Turns out...neither! My score was 50/50. Find out yours at http://shelleycarson.com - let me know if your brain is like mine! 🧠

More pearls from #HarvardWriters2018: "Twitter is the world's biggest cocktail party." My introverted approach to party going usually involves finding a cat to play with or a bathroom to hide in. But I want to network too! Gotta switch things up... @JulieSilverMD @RustyShelton

Why twitter is vastly important: it gives you the opportunity to translate online experiences into real, meaningful, in-person interactions.

Case in point: I'm sitting here at #HarvardWriters2018 with @ERGoddessMD, @BetaMomma and @JTopinMD - all made possible by the internet.

This is the biggest, most powerful thing that I'll be taking home from #HarvardWriters2018. We each have a unique voice and something to share. We are both separated & connected by our purpose and passions - the beauty in this lies in being able to honor both at the same time.

Last year I was sitting in a @IllinoisLEND lecture trying to figure out how learning how to tweet could ever be useful in my professional life (Yes I am a grandma. No I won't apologize for it.) Now I'm at #HarvardWriters2018 and I'm finally starting to get it...

When you're writing, SHOW don't tell...when humans are able to visualize and emphathize, they can come closer to understanding what you're trying to convey.

In today's media landscape, your brand precedes you. First impressions are typically made online rather than in person. Does your online presence match your personal presence?

@GustavoFerrerMD speaks about life being like a salad bar: pick and choose the things that look delicious to add to your plate. We're all afraid of running out of space on that plate. What to do? Get better at organizing the plate.

@RustyShelton speaks on "news-jacking":
Connect your thought-leader articles to relevant and current issues in order to make them more impactful. Time is of the essence when trying to propel your writing and your network forward. Widen your net!

Being a thought leader isn’t just preaching about what you believe in, it’s being able to back it up and talk it out.
