"I was overjoyed to see Haworth, but discovered [the crater] was for a Nobel chemist not the Brontë sisters. Nevertheless, for me, there was now a link to Wuthering Heights near the lunar south pole."

Inspiration for The Man in the Stone Cottage - the delights of #haworth in Yorkshire, England, which inspires so many people from across the world who visit the very place where the #brontesisters once lived!
The village in the image is Haworth, located in West Yorkshire, England, which has a rich industrial history tied to the textile industry during the Industrial Revolution. From the late 18th and 19th centuries, Haworth rapidly developed as a centre for the production of worsted yarn and cloth. The first water-powered textile mill was built in 1790 along the River Worth and Bridgehouse Beck. Rapid Growth and Conditions: The expanding industry led to a massive increase in demand for housing, resulting in the high-density housing visible today. The village became crowded and polluted, with a high death rate and poor sanitation, conditions famously highlighted in a report commissioned by Patrick Brontë in 1850.
industry in Haworth was the production of worsted yarn and cloth. The work was mainly carried out in factories, such as Bridgehouse Mills (below), situated on the Bridgehouse Beck. (Images Adobe Images) #Brontë #Haworth #WorkingClass
The Man in the Stone Cottage can be found on Amazon and Audible, a perfect read for the winter season and cozy, quiet evenings, inspired by the Brontë Sisters and the mystique of the Yorkshire moors.
