And the situations they do it in are largely ones where they're manipulating someone or trying to use someone for their gain. Was Alastor insanely pissed about how he thought him and Vox were friends, but the shoulder touch while Vox was giving his pitch made it clear to Alastor that Vox was lying to him and didn't want to be equals. So he's angry that Vox even dares to suggest they're friends after such blatant manipulation with no doubt the goal of using Alastor for his power. They put so much emphasis on that specific type of shoulder touch- and maybe that IS the reason for their falling out. Vox showing Alastor they're not friends."
