For my last post, I want to show a very easy to read chart of a comparison of costs of healthcare between countries. The fact that such a wealthy country like ours still charges over 6000 dollars more than average for healthcare is very sad. #SPCH145Advocates #HealthOverProfit
After following this movement all week, it’s clear how many people are affected by healthcare inequality. Raising awareness is just the first step, but it’s an important one. Change starts here. #HealthOverProfit #SPCH145advocates
Movements like this show how powerful collective voices can be. When people come together and speak out, it forces attention on real issues that have been ignored for too long. #HealthOverProfit #SPCH145advocates

As a student interested in public health, this movement is important to me because I want to help create a system where healthcare is accessible to everyone, not just those who can afford it. #HealthOverProfit #SPCH145advocates

Big pharmaceutical companies prioritize profit over people way too often. Medication prices are insane, even for life-saving drugs. That’s not right and people are starting to push back. #HealthOverProfit #SPCH145advocates
Social media has made it easier to spread awareness about healthcare inequality. Without platforms like this, many voices would never be heard. That’s why movements today can grow so quickly. #HealthOverProfit #SPCH145advocates
It’s crazy how expensive simple medical treatments can be in the U.S. People are forced to choose between their health and their finances, which should never happen. Something needs to change. #HealthOverProfit #SPCH145advocates
Healthcare shouldn’t depend on how much money you have. Everyone deserves access to basic care no matter their income. This is why movements like this matter now more than ever. #HealthOverProfit #SPCH145advocates
Education about nutrition, fitness, and preventive care can reduce long-term healthcare costs while improving quality of life. Prevention should always come before profit. YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT! #HealthOverProfit #SPCH145advocates
The cost of living has gone up so much that people can't even enjoy little things without it taking a chunk out of their paycheck. The cost to go places or to go shopping has risen and this can effect people mentally, possibly causing depression. #HealthOverProfit #SPCH145advocates
Closing up my week of advocating for #healthoverprofit. It was a great experience showing me how social media can be used as another way for our voices can be heard especially in the healthcare equity.

Alrighty, class, repeat after me:
Health insurance should be universal.
Health insurance should not create financial barriers.
Health insurance should make people healthy.
Health insurance should not scare people.
The more the merrier.

The goal of the #HealthOverProfit movement is simple: healthcare decisions should be based on patient wellbeing, not corporate earnings. Advocacy today creates change tomorrow. #SPCH145advocates
Day 7:At the end of the day, healthcare systems should be built around people, not profit margins. When decisions prioritize money over well-being, trust is lost. Advocating for change starts with awareness and conversation. Health must come first. #HealthOverProfit #SPCH145advocates
Healthcare workers often face pressure from systems focused on revenue instead of the outcome Of patients. Putting health first supports both patients and the professionals caring for them. #HealthOverProfit #SPCH145advocates
Rural communities often struggle with limited access to hospitals and specialists. Expanding telehealth and funding local clinics can reduce these healthcare gaps. #HealthOverProfit #SPCH145advocates
With the rise of inflation in America homelessness as well as hunger has risen drastically, as days pass it continues to grow more and more. Our government needs to step down from their throne and do something about it. #SPCH145advocates #HealthOverProfit
Over 1.6 billion people worldwide are going into poverty just by medical costs. The #healthoverprofit movement reminds people that every human doesn’t matter their country deserves medical care that doesn’t require financial ruin

A study by Yale shows that medical insurance company stakeholder payout increased by over 300% in just two decades. Just 19 companies drive over 80% of that total. They favor the shareholders, not the public.

Day 6:Rural communities and lower-income neighborhoods often have fewer healthcare resources. Access should not depend on your zip code. Quality care must be consistent across communities so everyone has a fair chance at staying healthy. #HealthOverProfit #SPCH145advocates
Day 5:Mental health services are just as important as physical healthcare, yet many people can’t afford therapy or counseling. When access is limited by cost, it blocks people from getting the help they need. Support should be accessible to all. #HealthOverProfit #SPCH145advocates
What puzzles me is that people complain about bad teachers when they barely get paid enough, that's why all the "good" teachers are barely seen. Teachers are paid to protect and teach students while they are barely paid, if they were given more it would be better. #HealthOverProfit #SPCH145advocates
Big insurance companies are buying up our local clinics just for their own benefit. Thats more like corporate greed before our actual care. Don’t like that? Well join the #healthoverprofit so we can put that to past! Want to learn more?

Healthcare workers dedicate their lives to caring for others. Supporting policies that protect both patients and providers helps build a stronger, fairer system. #HealthOverProfit #SPCH145advocates
