Photograph taken at the Himalayan Garden near Grewelthorpe, North Yorkshire, which has wonderful forest sections. This was taken on the verandah of the Kath Khuni, a small wooden structure traditionally from Himachal Pradesh which borders Tibet. Taken in early autumn, the densely packed trees are in full leaf, with hints of colour change on some. A mixture of evergreens and others. Above is blue sky with white clouds. Diagonally from top left to bottom right, juts the decorative carving of a wooden upright from a small hut. Some of the areas I love the most at the Himalayan Garden are the forest sections - just doing their thing, densely packed and usually away from visitors. There's also a stunning arboretum which is a joy, particularly in spring and autumn.

My favourite sculpture at Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park in Yorkshire. Elongated sculpture of a body sits overlooking a calm, large pond upon which reflects the trees beyond. Lotus flower sculpture floats at the far side of the pond. Bull rushes at the front and some form of weeping willow tree to the left. Blue sky with no clouds completes the scene.

My favourite ever sculpture at Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park, near Ripon. Sculpture of a figure sits tall whatever the weather hurls at it, looking out across the pond. Captures calm well. Artist and sculpture name TBC...really need to make a note next time I'm there.

Close up of a Himalayan Blue Poppy (Mecanopsis Betonicifolia). Large petals in a variety of translucent blues and purples. Centre has a sizeable mound of tiny golden stamens from which protrudes a lime and cream stigma.
