Born in Oklahoma, moved to Pennsylvania as a baby. Graduated from Penn State University in 1923. Owner and proprietor of the Boalsburg Tavern from 1930-1946. Served in the U.S. Naval Reserves from Nov. 1942 - Oct. 1946 with final rank of Lt. Commander. Moved to Arizona in 1947 and worked as a freelance journalist. Women of Centre County, PA's Past. #HERstory. Centre County Library & Historical Museum logo.

The second woman we are featuring from #CentreCountyPA history is Roanna Hill Winsor. Roanna was an alumnus of Penn State (class of 1923) and is responsible for restoring the historic Boalsburg Tavern in Boalsburg, PA and operated it from 1930-1946. Learn more at our #PARoom and #HistoricalMuseum.
