Thanks, I'll try joining in. #HotFrankSummer was so much fun, I'd like to recreate that magic again.
@rnrhamster.bsky.social Hello, I'd joined the #HotFrankSummer reading club back in June, but I can't access the feed at the moment. Was told to contact you since you're the feed owner. Could you please look into it?
Also, is there any centralized feed that I can follow to keep up with book clubs?
He's referring to the rockets corresponding to Slothrup's sexual exploits, I know, but to call someone a monster is pretty strong language, and it justifies his suffering and destruction. "Historically," makes it seem like a pre WW2 thing, too. After #HotFrankSummer, I'm sensitive to "monster."

It’s been a genuine thrill to read along with everyone in the #HotFrankSummer and #MrsD groups. I enjoyed reading the novels in a way I haven’t in decades. Thank you to everyone for your insights, and your encouragement to continue when I wanted to quit! Now I’m hooked. What are we reading next? 💐🔩
So I joined @bsky.app in May to read “Frankenstein” and participate in #Hotfranksummer 🔩 Now I’m reading “Mrs. Dalloway” with a group of cool people over at #MrsD 💐
What are everyone’s favorite tips for using Bluesky? Or fav things about it? Please post a comment in this post thread. And hello! 👋
Not sure if this was posted in #hotfranksummer but I found this episode with Jill Lepore really interesting. 🔩 podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/t...
🔩 I keep meaning to post this here, the podcast “Phoebe Reads a Mystery” does classics (stuff out of copyright) at a rate of a chapter a day but you can listen at whatever rate you like if you’re exploring the back catalog.
And by here I meant #hotfranksummer
3/3
But could there be a *slight* possibility that Victor shared this motive, in creating the monster?
I'd like to know what you think #HotFrankSummer
I don't know if anyone frequents #HotFrankSummer anymore, but there's a discussion I'd like to have. (1/?)
Writing about Blade Runner 2049, Helen Lewis wrote the movie is "an uneasy feminist parable about controlling the means of reproduction".

I haven't seen it. It seemed like a logical step in my #HotFrankSummer journey but maybe I'll watch a version of MS's story instead.

Okay maybe someone in the #HotFrankSummer crew asked this and I missed it, but why the framing device of telling the story through Capt Walton? I have ideas but am confused. Please educate me! List of ideas below.
A reminder that @amndw2.bsky.social is hosting Mrs. Dalloway for July. #HotFrankSummer, #MiddleMarchMadness, and #AMonthofDick will continue to be active, too. The fun doesn't end! 💐

Finished #HotFrankSummer & really liked it! I read Dracula for the first time last year & while it's definitely a masterpiece I was surprised that I enjoyed Frankenstein quite a bit more. I wonder if that has to do with the community aspect of doing it on here? Regardless thanks all you 🔩 'ers!
🔩 As a lapsed finisher of books, #hotfranksummer was a great time. Thanks to everyone who posted for being funny, insightful and informative.
I put together this small trivia puzzle on my #blog. The #HotFrankSummer crowd should get ~5/13 right off the bat! 🔩
A can of “Ishm-ale” from Moby Dick Brewing Company
I was saving this for the end #AMonthOfDick, but I fell too far behind. Same with #MiddleMarchMadness. But I managed to keep up with #HotFrankSummer every day, so now I’m celebrating finishing all three books. 🐋 🛖 🔩

I imagine Walton's poor sister shouting at this letter "do not attempt to hunt and kill a monster on the instructions of a hot madman, Walton!", knowing that that even if she sent her reply that day it would come months too late. Victorian letter-writing is rough, y'all. #HotFrankSummer 🔩
Walton inquiring *how exactly* Frankenstein created the fiend is the perfect example of a dude missing the point #HotFrankSummer
Victor Frankenstein is just the worst #HotFrankSummer

A nice neat stack of very good condition paperback copies of Elena Ferrante’s four Neopolitan Novels.
Am I traveling with limited luggage space? Did I walk into a used bookstore and buy the entire Neapolitan Novels series anyways? Yes. Yes I did. 📚 #booksky
