I love that we have a secondhand hardware/home repair store in our neighborhood. I dropped off our leftover drywall pieces (14x24, 10x10, and 6x6), the drywall tape and the half-full tub of spackle. Someone can definitely use those!

Hooray! The laundry room drywall repair is complete!
I’m not going to do texture spray on this area since I’d have to buy a new can and it’s expensive. Being hidden by the washer, I’m okay with this repair!
Next up, painting the guest bathroom!

The garage drywall repairs are done! I added the second coat of primer and we have completed the task! Huzzzah!

I’m feeling like a pro at this point!
Thankfully the original drywall was intact. I popped it in, applied the tape and the spackle. Easy peasy!
Now we wait for the spackle to dry, sand it then paint it!
All the drywall repairs are complete after this!

Ross put in two screws because it was a bit wobbly.
I put the tape down then spackled it quite messily because I am short. I was using a rock climbing technique (jamming) with my knee between the water heater and the wall to reach back there! So proud!

The second layer of spackle has been applied after a sanding. Then just a little paint to spruce it up!
Now to get up behind the water heater. I need to clean that area before anything else because cobwebs are icky! Then, measuring!!!!

Ross drilled the upper hole. I drilled the lower hole.
Since the drywall insert wiggled a bit, Ross drilled a screw into a stud to keep it steady.
I got the tape and spackle applied.
And now we wait for it to dry before the next step!

I got myself a shop vacuum! With the garage drywall repair work this weekend and the upcoming bookshelf projects (lots of dust from sanding), I decided a shop vac was a good investment. A broom would work fine but whatever helps my wrist stay unpained is helpful!

Drywall repair day five- time to paint the wall!! I’m enjoying a good audiobook while I set up and Juniper is nosing about curiously. Brave little kitty!
After this, I’ll do the touch-ups around the house that have needed to be done for a little while, too!

Drywall repair day four- I taped off the wall, then applied the texture spray! That was fun! Though, wrangling the tape and plastic sheeting was tricky once or twice yet I was not about to spend $55 on a fancy dispenser!
The spray goes on blue and dries white. One can doesn’t go far.

Drywall repair day three- I picked up masking film and tape to cover areas for protection.
I want to do the texture spray today but I also want to have tea and read books while it rains.
With my appointment this morning, gentle rest sounds ideal.

Drywall repair day two step one is done! 20 minutes of sanding and reapplication of the spackle has things moving along nicely. I’m hoping to do a third coat today before doing the orange peel texture spray tomorrow! My brother said that step’s more like art than construction. 🤭
