A black & white photograph taken in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn in 2012. Part of "Broken Streets" project. Exploring many ways that the ubiquitous nature and use of fire alarm boxes throughout the city have become part of an extinction process that proliferated with the use of the cell phone. The tens of thousands of alarm boxes throughout the city were part of a lifesaving technology that endured for more than a century, but faces extinction nonetheless in modern societies.
