All these ferry cancellations. The swell is around 3meters. The ferries used to 'eat' this. Now i think they are so paranoid that they will have yet another breakdown in Cook Straight they are being conservative. A good thing as these ferries are past their used by date. #interislander

The thing people don't seem to grasp when it comes to "budget blowouts" is that it isn't a failure to keep costs within a budget, it's a failure to budget properly in the first place.
A project will cost what it costs. Budgets are just a prediction of that cost.
