International Day of People with Disabilities. Swipe to see how we’re securing wins for disability rights in Central Asia
In a milestone achievement for inclusive labor policy, the Solidarity Center’s advocacy efforts contributed to the adoption of a standardized employment contract template for workers with disabilities by the government of Kyrgyzstan last year.
Digital Inclusion: Job-Matching App. Harnessing technology to address employment barriers, the Solidarity Center supported the launch of the unique “TenIshte” mobile application, a tool designed to connect job-seeking PWDs with inclusive employers in Kyrgyzstan.
Two Solidarity Center partners, Equal Opportunities and ITeachMe, led trainings for youth with disabilities. Over 300 young PWDs in Kyrgyzstan have now been trained on their rights under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), including labor rights and defending them.
Today, we observe #InternationalDayOfPeopleWithDisabilities. Everyone deserves fair treatment on the job. Here's how the Solidarity Center is making sure workers with disabilities are getting justice in Central Asia.

This!
Those of us with disabilities also deserve to live full, rich lives, including being able to marry without fear of losing our benefits.
Additionally, the resulting stress from our financial instability worsens many of our conditions.

An artwork with bold, bright colours and geometric patterns depicting the ferris wheel on Grand Parade in Cork City that pops up every holiday season; the piece is slightly abstract, but still clearly shows the ferris wheel as well as the surrounding buildings, street, and scene.
Rosaleen Moore, artist of Ferris Wheel, concentrates as she uses a small paintbrush to work on one of her pieces; Rosaleen is a member of Crawford Supported Studios.
Today is #InternationalDayOfPeopleWithDisabilities and we’re celebrating by sharing Ferris Wheel by Rosaleen Moore, a work depicting a familiar scene on Grand Parade at Christmas time. Rosaleen is a member of Crawford Supported Studios., a sustained creative environment that centres disabled people.
Digital illustration of a large group of disabled people of different ethnicities, ages, and genders. Among the crowd are service and emotional support animals. There’s two smaller protest signs that read, ‘I shouldn’t lose benefits when I get married.’ And ‘ban subminimum wage’ the main sign reads, ‘disabled people are expert of their own lives and know what they need.’
💕 it’s #InternationalDayOfPeopleWithDisabilities, which is a good time to talk about disability rights and justice.
The #InternationalDayofPeoplewithDisabilities highlights the urgent need to protect and empower persons with disabilities (PWD) in #Myanmar in the wake of the 2021 military coup and the March 2025 earthquake. Solidarity must translate into action. ⬇️
