When I picked up Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson, I knew it would be a heavy read, but I wasn't expecting it to be so crushing. Some parts were truly hard to stomach. I think I need to stick to fiction for a while now.

Specific reference here is to her Chapter eight "The Nazis and the Acceleration of Caste" P81 "Hitler especially marvelled at the American knack for maintaining an air of robust innocence in the wake of mass death." Antony Blinken was adept at this over Gaza. P82 Looking for prototypes, the Nazis looked at white dominated countries such as Australia and South Africa - nb Elon Musk today. "Their overwhelming interest was in the 'Classic Example' The United States of America." "The old guard did not forsee, or chose not to see that Hitler's/(Trump's) actual mission 'was to exploit the methods of democracy to destroy democracy.' P83 "Still Nazi propaganda worked to turn Germans against Jewish citizens. (UK & US doing this today against Transgender Citizens in the UK, in my opinion, the NHS hateful Cass Report provides a mendacious Government with 'plausible deniability' in their process of recasting trans people. P87 "Thus began a campaign of ever tightening restrictions..."
