The night before, remembering something from his childhood when he used to visit, he went into the loft and rooted through the dusty boxes and found what he was looking for, an old biscuit tin with his Action Man and spare clothes, thankfully not thrown away. Going through the box he found a pair of black Action Man trousers and a dark camouflage shirt. Turning them inside out, he sewed up the inside seams to make them smaller and by the time heโd finished, had a perfectly acceptable set of clothes for your slightly shorter than average fairy. They fit surprisingly well, his wings slipping easily through the two slits he made in the back, much the same as Frenchie has in his tunic, but whereas Frenchie looks adorable and cute, Izzy is delighted to see that he looks quite badass. I am a combat fairy, he thinks to himself, unable to help a giggle escaping.
Sitting, comfortably naked, alongside him on a brightly painted mushroom ornament beside the pond, Frenchie looks at him sideways, a mischievous little look on his face.

โAre you all right?โ Izzy asks, concerned and then oofs out a breath as Frenchie wraps him up, holding him tightly against his rainbow of colours. An elderly couple are walking by on the other side of the road and they scurry off but Izzy hasn't got time to be worried about that.

This is a very silly love story. Itโs silly because itโs about a fairy and they are usually very silly creatures. They are also sweet and playful and sexy and when they fall in love it is with their entire heart and it is forever. The fairy in our story is called Frenchie, and he lives in a fairy burrow in the New Forest in the south of England. Fairies like living underground, often in abandoned badgers sets as they feel safe and warm. They mostly live communally but sleep in their own little chambers, carved out within the burrow, on soft beds of moss and rose petals, that strangely never seem to fade. Most of them do not have magic in the accepted sense, but they are creatures of magic, and magical things can happen when you fall in love with one.
