Planned an early night but my #JessieMatthews klexon just fired because someone's put her ep of 1977 anthology drama Jubilee up on YouTube. Don't think it ever had a release, not even a plot summary on IMDB. Her highly mannered 1930s acting will hit that 70s screen like a cathode ray gone rogue.

Yes I have a Google alert for new archive pictures of one specific largely forgotten 1930s musicals icon. What? Well, masc dom top, actually.
#JessieMatthews (centre) was finally allowed to shake hands with royalty in the 60s. She was barred from the line up after headlining her own show in the 30s because the judge at her lover's divorce hearing had branded her "an odious woman" when her letters to him were presented as evidence.

Ok this is a new entry in my Top Ten Movies whenever I next do such madness. 91 years late. To cap it all the final scene plays out in front of chorus girls dancing to a number from the largely forgotten #JessieMatthews hit Evergreen of the previous year, which has a very special place in my heart.
