A 3D printed round green-blue fish with a platypus coming out of the mouth.
I saw one of the new blind minifig boxes from LEGO and was enamoured with the fish guy. So I tried replicating the over-all style.
This time I also used a limited colour palette. It's the Kimera Pisarski special set.

Pictured is a single page with 30 swatches of inks that are undiluted and glazed on the page over a black line to demonstrate their opacity or transparency.
My Kimera Kolors Velvet inks, Expanded Primaries, & Skin Kolors finally arrived, along with some brushes & a mini. Made a swatch of the inks to check if they were okay for fear they froze & thawed in transit. All good!

This 3-Image collage shows different angles of the same sci-fi chariots platform on a round black plinth. It is a work-in-progress shot of the paintjob so far, painted in different NMM metals (one blue-purple metal, the other shiny brass) somewhat sketched in and somewhat refined, as well as star/galaxy theme on the wheels. The sci-fi chariot is part of the 'Apollon God of Sun' kit and project, and produced by Kimera Models. The image was taken in front of neutral grey background and has my icon in the bottom left corner on low opacity settings.

Image shows the close-up of a section of the miniature chariots main axle, which appears like a segmented insect-like connecting section. The sci-fi chariot is part of the 'Apollon God of Sun' kit and project, and produced by Kimera Models. The WIP state on this detail is currently at a point where the surface texture and color and value contrasts are in a good spot, while the gaps between segments are yet upainted.
This Image is a horizontally split collage of both sides of the miniature chariot with axle-piece and platform temporarily put together with blutack. The sci-fi chariot is part of the 'Apollon God of Sun' kit and project, and produced by Kimera Models. The WIP state of the paintjob is generally still very early on in the process and shows mostly sketched in / mapped out color with more or less progressing on the highlight placement. Some details, mostly this weeks additions like the finalizing of the space surface of the wheels and some of the more difficult to access parts of the blue metallics, are worked out to a higher degree than the rest.
Finished up the space surface of the wheels and did some work on the blue parts afterwards with shiny textures & nmm.
It's slow going and not exactly spectacular like the space horses were toward the end, but it's honest work. 😇

A collage of two pictures, split horizontally, showing the left and right flank of this sci-fi style horse miniature. It is mostly painted with celestial bodies and a general space-theme, but framed by details I have started to paint as different metal surfaces. This week, on monday and wednesday, I started sketching in the first of those, which I decided to paint as non-metallic-metal brass.
A close-up of this first horse I'm painting, from the "Apollon, god of sun" miniature from Kimera Models. This side of the horse catches a bit more light than the other, so I went for brighter highlight tones in the sketching and kept it warmer overall. It is far from done, though, so there might still be changes later on.
A close-up of the other side of the same horse, which is generally meant to look less bright and saturated, however that caused it to look a bit too dull at this point in time, so I'll likely push the dark ends of the surfaces further toward black. But we'll see how that'll turn out in the next steps :) - Let me know if you enjoy these extra detailed alt-texts. I think they could be a great place for additional context and general info.
NMM time!
Before I move on to the second horse, I want to at least figure out what metals to frame the space paintings with and how to paint them.
I'm going with a polished brass for some of the metal surfaces and sketched that out, this week.
