The weekend gets off to a rubbish start with just 15 species (plus a White Stork which flew SSW reasonably high) at the tip 😲 / sewage works.

March across the wider Dungeness recording area was desperate with the 2026 total now on 161 species
Highlight was a Crane which flew over the RSPB reserve, a Smew and Long-tailed Duck on seawatches and a light scattering of spring migrants

A leisurely 6:15 start for the first Milton Creek bird survey on a cold frosty morning. 42 sp seen or heard with 7 Song Thrushes (rare birds there) & a late Fieldfare the highlights. 2 Blackcaps heard calling were year ticks. At least 25 Dunnock recorded. #kentbirding #kentnature

RSPB Dungeness, I wasn’t hoping for much on the second visit of the day to Burrowes, this afternoon, so was pleasantly surprised to find a Crane overhead, that circled briefly before going height and heading north.
