The “what if” was … fine? Confusing as the ultimate ending though.

The drama #KillMeLoveMe (far inferior to #PursuitOfLove) had a “what if” ending that worked well and elevated the drama imo.

This one was just … there

Liu Xueyi’s ML in #KillMeLoveMe is also pretty ruthless - he does (on the surface) cool ruthless characters (who are sympathetic underneath!) very well

Yes, I would like to see another drama with a ruthless ML like Xie Wei, but I would prefer it if the audience is privy to why he’s being ruthless

Liu Xue Yi is in another drama called #LoveNeverFails. I really enjoyed his work in #KillMeLoveMe even though that turned out to be a bit of a #CTrauma. I’ll start it when I finally finish #SpeedandLove and maybe #SniperButterfly

The same with shows like #KillMeLoveMe & #TheRiseofPhoenixes - great characters, gripping stories, but I couldn’t stay around for the bitter ending!

If I’m going to be put through grief & suffering, I want a positive resolution 🙂

She is also excellent in the more recent revenge drama #KillMeLoveMe - though I didn’t like the ending at all (so I can only recommend the first 3/4 of the drama 😅)

ok I asked the heavens, rolled the dice and finally decided that I will start #killmeloveme

I just started a #CDrama called #WhatIf because one of the leads is also the ML in #KillMeLoveMe Lui Xue Yi but I think I’ve already watched it. I can’t remember whether I finished it though. It seems cosy.

I still have more thoughts about #KillMeLoveMe on #Netlix. I think the reason this worked for me is the actor performances, especially Wu Jinyan and to a lesser degree, Liu Xueyi. Xueyi had the right look and was able to convey the menace, stoicism and vulnerability of Jinghe. /1

My main takeaway from #KillMeLoveMe aka #春花焰 on #Netflix is that dudes go mental and/or do heinous shit over obsessive love. While I've read reviews where people thought the characters were not developed well enough and the pacing was bad, I disagreed. I enjoyed the story and performances. /1

#春花焰 aka #KillMeLoveMe on #Netflix is an engaging C Drama with strong acting and an interesting, albeit frustrating (for my Western-coded brain at least) premise. While our female protagonist is always sympathetic, her would-be male counterpart is literally a deceitful groomer which I can't abide.
