The little fan on the left is something called Cat's Tongue, because, well, as you can see it has these tiny protuberances that look like… And the gorgeous ones on the right can be used for dying stuff.

Three slender, slightly curvy, black fingers growing from a damp forest floor

Four examples of the same mushroom that have been carefully dug out of the ground, showing the very clear shape of large caterpillars as a sort of root system. Quite creepy.

Ready to post just a few photos from my mushroom walk at #Kinglake3763 with Jeremy from Partial Veil (look him up). These black fingers are a parasitic mushroom that grows from the head of hibernating caterpillars! Faaaaark!
