In winter, the soil recovers from the previous harvest by absorbing nitrogen and other nutrients from the plant residues of the previous harvest, so that the soil can provide enough nutrients for the rice plants of the next harvest. By using photos and text, I show what people do with the landscape they live in and its effects on the landscape. The documentaries are meant to be registrations, telling and showing what happens and how something functions. Human activities in the Albufera are at odds with nature in the area. Many animal and plant species are disappearing due to agriculture, fishing, hunting, industry, tourism and urbanisation. Since the people have realised that a clean living environment and high biodiversity also have great benefits for humans, they are committed to protecting the flora and fauna in the Albufera. As the interests of different parties are often conflicting, this is a difficult and long-term process. Nevertheless, people are increasingly managing to make their activities less harmful to the natural habitat.

Die Umwandlung einer landwirtschaftlichen Fläche zu einem #Solarpark mit extensiver Bewirtschaftung (hier Weidenutzung/Schafe) konnte die botanische Vielfalt in der #Kulturlandschaft erhöhen. #Artenvielfalt
