Just presented our story on #KupfferCells #liver & #microplastics togehter with @mariafviola.bsky.social in the basic science session @ #EASL2025 in #Amsterdam. Great format to promote ECRs and for fantastic discussions with scientists and clinicians!
We investigated the role of phagocytes in NETs removal. Kupffer cells were the main players, efficiently engulfing histones & elastase from NETs, while monocytes played a minor role. Neutrophils also took up NET remnants, but to a lesser extent
