Date of unveiling: September 30, 2001 Material: Bronze Sculptor: Valeriy Medvedev Architects: Roman Kukharenko, Yuriy Melnychuk The "Executed Children" memorial stands opposite the exit of the Dorohozhychi metro station. The bronze composition depicts a young girl and broken children's toys, symbolizing the tragedy of the children who perished in Babyn Yar during the Nazi occupation of Kyiv. As of today, the memorial remains an integral part of the Babyn Yar National Historical and Memorial Reserve, which is dedicated to preserving the memory of Holocaust victims and other tragic events associated with this site.
