People keep asking what's next after #LEL2025. I was originally muttering some stuff about gravel but have decided nothing is next, or rather, I'm next. It's officially the off season, and training gets in the way of basic stuff like bones, nutrition, housework, rehab, doggos, skills, etc 1/

back at Writtle on Tuesday to open the bar again.
Boy, my fellow #LEL riders were a thirsty bunch. Shame we couldn't do the whole ride, but that's life. Roll on 2029

Last night we were lucky enough to be included for dinner at curry&cocktails with a bunch of RUSA still in Chelmsford for #LEL2025 and we ate table-style, with an entire table of starters before this shot of mains (which wasn't even complete). I brought home a curry amalgamation for breakfast today.

Here are some food photos from #LEL2025: Roast at the control in Richmond, Pizza from a takeaway joint later in Richmond, Cider in a small town fixing Larin's puncture, and Halloumi kebabs at St. George's Inn on the south side of the Humber Bridge after we rushed across in case winds closed it.

After a most leisurely trundle from Northstowe through Henhan, I've finally arrived at Writtle. It's odd, a party atmosphere but no real sense of achievement.
My last LEL, it's a pity the weather gods intervened.

I made it back to Writtle last night and effectively finished London-Richmond-London. Jesse came and met me at the end with sneakers, for I was So Done wearing cycling shoes. My finisher's medal says #LEL2025 (they obviously couldn't reprint them); my brevet card partially stamped. 1/

いままでイギリスのストームとか気にしたことなかったけど、Wikipediaを眺めると毎年8月に1〜2個発生してる（2022-2024シーズンとか1年で2個発生した2個が8月）昨年の8月下旬に発生したものはハンバー橋を直撃したようなので、今回がこれだったらもっとヤバかったかも。
LELが7月末〜8月頭に開催されるのも、これをギリ避けるためだったのかな🤔

The final part of that leg was simply heartbreaking. So many lovely looking pubs and i rode past all of them.
