Also been getting 2.5 hours per night on #IC5146 aka the "Cocoon" nebula with the #LX200 setup. This is 27.5 hours combined and I don't think I have combined this much data on a single target yet! The surrounding dust lanes are really starting to show!
Started playing around with the mosaic function of the ASIAir with the #LX200 setup. It is really opening up the targets I could never get completely in the FOV. Four panels of #M31 and two panels of #M45 are coming along quite nicely!
Been collecting photons on the "Cygnus Wall" in NGC7000 aka the "North America" Nebula. With the #LX200 it really gets a lot of the detail close up as well as the surrounding dark nebulae. This is almost 6 hours using the multi broadband filter. #SoCal #Astrophotography
New plumbing! Starizona FR/FF, 35.3 and 16.5 mm spacers, SVBony Filter drawer, ASI2600MCPro for exactly the spec 90.3 mm of back focus!!
M27 "Dumbbell" Nebula in Vulpeca. 100x3 min. Meade LX200 8" Classic, Starizona 6.3 FR/FF, ASI2600MCPro, SVBony Multi Broadband filter, ZWO AM5N, ASIAir Plus. Stacked and stretched in Siril
I finally retired my #Meade f/6.3 focal reducer for a new #Starizona 6.3 model on the #LX200 setup. I am super pleased with the results and now going back to some of my favorite targets in a whole new "light"! Here is 5 hours of #M27 and very little cropping had to be done! #SoCal #Astrophotography
An enormous time machine cleverly disguised as a telescope. Sunglasses for scale.
I present to you, Astropotamus Rex. #Meade #LX200 14" ACF. #AstroRig coming soon for #Astrophotography. @astrocalhau.bsky.social @khagolnomy.space @eggstronomer.bsky.social @dylanodonnell.bsky.social @astronomyandbeer.bsky.social @davidbflower.bsky.social @sjbastro.bsky.social @aas.org 🌌🔭🔭🔭🔭🔭🦛
W/ no clear nights for a couple of weeks, I’ve been working on my Meade LX200. Added a CYCK focuser. Also purchased a Deep Sky Dad light panel that attaches to the front. Testing w/ N.I.N.A., it works wonderfully. Now for a clear night so I can test the setup.

NGC 6888 Crescent Nebula in Cygnus. 218 x 3 min stacked. Meade 8" LX200 Classic w f/6.3 FR/FF. ZWO ASI2600MCPro, AM5N, ASIAir Plus, stacked and stretched in Siril.
Dialed in the #LX200 back-focus last night and was able to add some #NGC6888 data before the fog rolled in. I dug into the processing and was able to mellow out the stars and pull out some of the surrounding #OIII wispy goodness! This is almost 11 hours combined! #SoCal #Astrophotography
NGC 6888 Crescent Nebula in Cygnus. 185 x 3 minute. Meade 8" LX200 Classic w/ f6.3 FR/FF, ZWO AM5N, ASI2600MCPro, ASIAir Plus. Stacked and stretched in Siril.
M27 Dumbell Nebula in Vulpeca. 53 x 3 minute. Meade 8" LX200 Classic w/ f6.3 FR/FF, ZWO AM5N, ASI2600MCPro, ASIAir Plus. Stacked and stretched in Siril.
IC5146 Cocoon Nebula near Cygnus. 42 x 3 minute. Meade 8" LX200 Classic w/ f6.3 FR/FF, ZWO AM5N, ASI2600MCPro, ASIAir Plus. Stacked and stretched in Siril.
Updates on my #LX200 targets. Getting some nice detail overall. The collimation is a little off and I am hoping to have the spacers today to dial in the coma. Hoping to pull more of the OIII data out of the Crescent Nebula with over 9 hours so far! #SoCal #Astrophotography
M27 Dumbell Nebula. 14x3 minutes. Meade 8" LX200 Classic w/ f/6.3 Focal reducer. ZWO ASI2600MCPro, SVBony 260 Multi Broadband Filter, ZWO AM5N, ASIAir Plus. Stacked and stretched in Siril
NGC6888 Crescent Nebula. 48 x 3 minutes. Meade 8" LX200 Classic w/ f/6.3 Focal reducer. ZWO ASI2600MCPro, SVBony 260 Multi Broadband Filter, ZWO AM5N, ASIAir Plus. Stacked and stretched in Siril
Working on the back focus/focal length for the #LX200 since the moon is obnoxious in the Sagittarius region. Getting closer but still some coma in the corners. Probably need to check collimation. Still decent results on #M27 "Dumbell" Nebula and #NGC6888 "Crescent" Nebula. #SoCal #Astrophotography
First up are the #LX200 #ASI2600MCPro images; I started with #M13 "Great Hercules Cluster" and then moved over to #M4 in Scorpius. I ended with 12 minutes of #M20 the "Triffid" Nebula before the fog shut it down. Hope to get more soon! #SoCal #Astrophotography
Got some imaging in last night! I ran the #LX200 with the ASI2600MCPro and multi band filter. Also got the first light on the new ASI585MCPro with the #RedCat51 and the duo band filter. Setup a plan but was foiled by the fog around midnight. I will post the results shortly! #SoCal #Astrophotography
#M51 #WhirpoolGalaxy IMAGED TONIGHT. Here the result of two treatments to emphasize the different colours associated with both interacting galaxies.

Here is my 3 nights (69x5 = over 5 hours total integration) of #LX200 data on #IC434 aka the Horsehead Nebula in Orion. I used to see pictures of this in science books as a kid! It is a dream come true to get this image! #SoCal #Astrophotography
WONDERFUL #SATURN OCCULTATION BY THE MOON TONIGHT IMAGED FROM #MontsenyObservatory, #Catalonia. These selected images at direct focus of the 10 cm Schmidt Right camera and the #LX200 on #Sony Alfa 6000 are followed by a final sequence. Now waiting for reappearance as well!🤩🪐🌙

First photons of 2025! Another clear night for a driveway data with Orion. Added 2+ hours of #M42 with the #RedCat51III and 3 hours of #IC434 with the #LX200. Definitely off to a good start to the year! #SoCal #Astrophotography

M42 Great Orion Nebula 12x5 min exposures, stacked and stretched in Siril, DPP Meade LX200 Classic OTA, FR/FF f/6.3, IR Modified Canon 650D, CLS Filter, ZWO AM5N, Autoguided
First light on the new #AM5N #LX200 setup! The clouds parted enough to get an hour in on my all time favorite #M42, the "Great Orion" Nebula. Amazed at the ease of setup and minimal time to get imaging started. Looking forward to the possibilities of this new setup!
End of an era and the beginning of a new one! After 30+ years of relatively flawless service, I deforked my #Meade #LX200 and adapted it to the new #ZWO #AM5N mount! To the next 30 years!

THE PERSEUS DOUBLE CLUSTER IMAGED FROM #MontsenyObservatory, #Catalonia on Nov. 25, 2024. Just a 3 min. exposure image using #Sony Alpha 6000 at direct focus of the #LX200. Just testing that camera for wide field imagery with the famous twin cluster located at 7,500 light-years🤩
ONE MINUTE EXPOSURE OF COMET #Tsuchinshan_atlas tonight from B06 #MontsenyObservatory, #Catalonia. Despite the First Quarter Moon influence, the tail is still noticeable and the comet still easy for small telescopes. Colour image at direct focus of the #LX200 on Sony A6000.
