An immature chalk-fronted corporal in the grass. It is resting on some blades of grass and is facing upward. the dragonfly is mostly a dull orange or brown, with a black stripe running down its abdomen and a couple of tan stripes on its thorax. The wings are open and spread out and are clear.

Chalk-fronted corporal on the ground. The dragonfly is facing the top of the photo. It is resting on what appears to be sand with some little rocks in it. Its head is brown with two tiny antennae. The thorax is brown with a small white spot on either side. It has four wings. They are see-through except for some veining and dark spots at the top outer edge of each wing. Just below the thorax and at the start of the abdomen are more white spots on each side. The abdomen is an orangish brown with black lines separating the segments and a black line stretching all the way down to the end, starting thin and getting thicker as it reaches the tail.
