A real highlight from RSPB Leighton Moss on 31st March, an incredibly acrobatic 1st winter Little Gull twisting and turning over the reserve.
Light as a feather and full of energy, giving brilliant views as it fed on the wing. A proper spring treat! 🐦✨

An unsuccessful Otter watch in Southport this evening, although stumbling upon some Goldilocks Buttercups (1 of only 2 Merseyside sites) certainly helped ease the pain! Also bumped into a Cattle Egret and Spoonbill along the coast just before sunset #UKBirding #LancashireBirding

Cattle Egrets. Bored of them yet? Relatively easy to see nowadays in South Lancs. #MartinMere, Burscough & Scarisbrick being favoured wintering haunts. I found the first ever in Lancs & counted the Lancs record of 39 in the autumn #Lancashirebirding
The annually occurring wintering Twite flock in Southport are fairly easy to find at the moment. Usually near the Marine Lake outflow on a rising tide #Lancashirebirding
