There's not much better than skuas, and spring adults are a rare treat. A couple of Arctics cutting some shapes as they raced north along the Blackpool/Fleetwood coast this evening were just fantastic 😍 #lancsbirding #ukbirding

Was becoming concerned I wouldn’t see a Swallow in March, so one at Brockholes this morning was a relief and a stark contrast in first date from last years earliest ever, 10th March. Fem Common Scoter still on Ribble. Largest Sand Martin count thus far y/day with 140+, c100 today. #LancsBirding

Couldn't find the Greenlands πŸ˜”, but several unasdignable white-f heads seen very distantly in the Pinks - the bulk of the geese were way out of range @stuartsbirding.bsky.social #Lancsbirding

Some of 100-150 Curlew on wet grassland the last 2 weeks. Already Curlew singing higher up in the #YorkshireDales, but these lingering.

I love that people walking along the canal stop to tell me how good it is to have the Curlew back.

Drake Common Scoter at Fishmoor Res, Blackburn late afternoon. Settled on a total of 32 Sand Martin at Brockholes earlier, an unprecedented number for 6th March. Only one other double figure count before second half of month 1998-2026 and that was as recent as last year, 17 on 10/3/25. #LancsBirding
