🌄 Riding Mountain National Park – Sunset Split by Light and Shadow During a recent camping trip at Riding Mountain National Park, I witnessed and captured one of the most surreal sunset moments I’ve ever experienced. Using my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV with the Canon EF 24–105mm f/4L IS USM lens, paired with an ND filter and polarizer (CPL), I was able to perfectly balance the exposure for this dramatic long-exposure image. As the sun began to set, a large cloud drifted directly in front of it. That single cloud acted like a natural filter, partially blocking the sunlight—resulting in powerful sun streaks that radiated across the sky. The contrast was incredible: one half of the sky plunged into a moody darkness, while the other half burst into vibrant hues of orange, gold, and soft pinks—a true golden hour masterpiece.
