Two pairs of striped pants of identical design hang on hangers next to each other. They are long wide-legged pants with a gathered waist with elastic and a drawstring tie. They have slash pockets and cargo pockets. The pair on the left are navy blue cotton twill with cream pinstripes from Cali Fabrics (dead stock I bought the last they had, it is soft and drapey and nice) The pair on the right are beige and cream striped cotton twill from The Sewing Studio in Orlando. The blue twill is a bit more drapery than the beige twill but both are beautiful fabric and lovely to work with.
A close up of the two cargo pockets. The blue one is actually 1/4 inch shorter because I originally forgot to cut them out cross grain and had to recut them. In order to avoid cutting into my large remnant, it made them a tiny bit shorter so I could cut them out of scraps

The #lanepants for my mom are done! I hope she likes them. They will be a birthday present in October. Now to make a top to go with them. I had fabric and a pattern picked out from Fabric Godmother, but they are a UK Co. and not shipping to the U.S. because we suck.

Ok, I’m back on the #lanepants for my mom. Let’s go. It’s nice to be able to just use the same pattern I already cut out. She sent me all her measurements and we are very close to the same size. I know the pants I made before would fit her perfectly. More pinstripe! 🪡

I made them in 3 days before but I just sew here and there throughout the day when I feel like it. I am going to use the same pattern I already traced so that will save time this time, plus each time you sew the same thing you learn something and get faster. Click #lanepants to see the others.

My next project is some #lanepants for my mom since she wants the ones I made for myself. This fabric is some really nice deadstock cotton/linen twill from Cali Fabrics. It washed up very soft, no wrinkles. It has a tiny bit of stretch & a nice drape, like soft denim. #garmentsewing #sewing

Toddler sized double pocket cargo pants with sailboat print
Butterick 3838 children’s clothing sewing pattern with 4 boys in casual clothes - cargo shorts, cargo pants, t shirts, and bucket hats
I used the vintage Butterick kids’ pattern 3838 (03’) to make cargo pants for my daughter and I love the look of the pockets + sturdiness of the double interfaced pocket flap - may have to make these puppies for myself hehe (maybe a #lanepants hack?)

I finished my #LanePants but they are a little too wide for my liking. Has anyone tried the tapering hack? They are incredibly comfortable, but I want to make a pair I will wear out of my house.
