The spruce needles shine where the sun hits them, holding a few bits of snow and some tiny circles of light where the camera lens has translated background glimmers. A single dry stem of an herbaceous native wild pea vine (Lathyrus ochroleucus) stands in a bit of sun against a blue-violet and whitish partly shadowed snowy background. One compound leaf with a handful of dry leaflets extends to the left. The leaflets are backlit pale gold, papery and crumpled a bit on places, with tiny marks and holes on the surface. Some smaller leaflets cling next to the upright stem, with even a small tendril preserved. The blurred background holds several round edged pale masses- clumps of snow looking like mounds of cotton batting, near white in the centres, blending to violet-blue in the shadows between. The camera lens has turned a number of glimmers of light into bright or faint circles in the background, and a few bits of reddish brown foliage fade into the shadows. A mid-pale violet plucked from the filter enhanced shadows forms a thin border and a lighter shade is used for the words Happy Holidays in a casual script font in lower left.

Afternoon winter sun lights a slender twig arcing into frame from the upper left with 5 partly overlapping leaves toward the tip (I think this is Amelanchier/ Saskatoon/Serviceberry, but my brain is refusing to switch on right now..lol) . The leaves are autumn red brown, dry with some holes and tears here and there and a slight rim and dusting of frost. Behind the leaves is a rough furrowed poplar trunk, the golden light making it appear lighter than it is. To the left blurred shadowed tree trunks with light coming between paint an abstract pastel view of dark vertical bands with the gaps stuffed with piles of circles of light in clear, gold and pale blue.

The sun shines through a dry birch leaf still attached to the twig, golden to brown, with some dark spots and a transparent spot where probably some insect fed on it during summer, but mostly intact. It hangs down, and we see it straight on, with a much smaller leaf in front of it to the upper right, and even tinier bits above/behind. To the left we see another dark twig blurring into the snowy background, which is a mix of white with dark spots faded into grey/violet here and there. A filter has intensified the colours a bit and accentuated the violet tones in the background. A white vignette has been applied to the corners.

Several gently arched dark thin stems in a patch of sunlight bear pendant shield shaped leaves of red-orange, speckled dark in places. There are little mounds of snow some of the leaves/stems, and a number of other stems/grasses criss cross the image against a backdrop of softly blue shadowed snow

Slightly gold green textured leaves of a shrub rose catch a bit of sun between the snow that covers more of the leaves, and the shadowed snow behind.

Several clusters of many wiry dark stems bear drooping dark catkin like seed heads against little mounds of snow, some catching the sun, others in light blue shadow. Other kinds of seed heads, hold snow like little umbrellas, rise blurrily behind.
