This was an excellent drama but the last 3 episodes were complete rubbish. It was so unnecessary and it seems like the director ran out of ideas and decided to kill off one of the character. So dumb. I couldn’t even be happy about the ending smh 😡.

Oh cool - so he (the actor Tan Kai) was in 4 dramas I watched last year - #SwordandBeloved, #ShadowLove, #LegendoftheFemaleGeneral & #Serendipity - plus he was in the present director’s previous drama #Blossom, from 2024

So he’s clearly very active!

Sidenote, the mask ML is wearing in #PursuitOfJade is SO way more what FL should've been wearing when she was He Ru Fei in #LegendOfTheFemaleGeneral.
(And in the book, it was - there was even a special ~mechanism so people couldn't pull it off... Poor girl even slept in the mask.)

Yes, exactly; if the characters are vital enough, then as a viewer, one can overlook narrative weaknesses

This was my experience with #LegendoftheFemaleGeneral - a drama which received a lot of criticism for various story adaptation/directorial weaknesses

It probably/hopefully means the Song Yan character isn’t as central to the plot as the character from #LegendoftheFemaleGeneral (who was unfortunately a main character, so it completely sabotaged his character arc, & with it parts of the story involving Zhang Miaoyi)

It is for sure happening. Just like the band of misfits in #LegendoftheFemaleGeneral. They will become her ride or die soldiers.

This band of misfits will become her new besties. They remind me of the band of misfits in #LegendoftheFemaleGeneral.

As my recent push for #LegendoftheFemaleGeneral at the expense of #LegendofZanghai indicates, I am not an unconditional fan of Xiao Zhan

But I don’t understand why someone would boycott his dramas just because of his fans?

Xiao Zhan is *not* his fans - he’s a human being who acts & sings

Ciele is talking about the novel the drama is based on - I don’t know anything about it, but it’s common for transmigration stories to be adapted without the transmigration beginning point

I believe it also happened in #TheDouble, #TheGlory, & #TheStoryofMinglan & #LegendoftheFemaleGeneral too 🙂
