Mayor Hidalgo and Paris proving it can be done and it turns out LOTS of people like it.
Let's GO. We have so much urban #ClimateInfluence potential, in the U.S. especially, to move quickly on the same.
I talked with mayors for #LivingChange #podcast and will continue with #NameAndFame show.
Also - let me know what mayors/city council / local leaders you see out in your worlds (I focus on the U.S. because we are SO far behind) who ARE worthy of urban transportation #LivingChange #NameAndFame . I will try to interview them and point to them as examples for others to follow.
This is exactly why my #LivingChange podcast interviews and now my #NameAndFame interviews aim to amplify leaders who ARE walking their talk. Our culture has made this transit board member who doesn't take transit TOO common. Leaders - you have to be seen leading to build resilient trust.
You are singing my #ClimateInfluence song (!), and talking with political leaders who were regularly seen biking for transportation was key to my first podcast (and will very much get coverage in my new show #NameAndFame :-) : #LivingChange andrealearned.com/podcast/
Much of what Mr. Sunstein suggested were things I talked about with #KEXP @djjohnrichards.bsky.social in a #LivingChange #podcast interview I did with him a few years ago. When people know that someone they admire/follow is vegan - they're more open to the idea. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/p...
Love to see that Mark Gamba (now #OR House of Reps) won National Caucus of Environmental Leaders recognition. When he was Mayor of Milwaukie, OR, I interviewed him for my #LivingChange #podcast and LOVED his view on being seen #biking as mayor. ncel.net/articles/nce... #ClimateInfluence
Great @bikeportland.org piece on #OR House Rep, Mark Gamba, the #ebike rebate, and how he "knows a thing or two about the value of ebikes." | I interviewed Mark for my #LivingChange #podcast in 2023 and he is a fantastic example of local leader #ClimateInfluence . #bikes4all #cities
Pretty pumped that Barbara Buffaloe was re-elected as Mayor of Columbia MO. She's a #cities4climate rockstar, who really understands community building and authentic influence (and she bikes). Loved our convo for #LivingChange #podcast in 2023: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/l... #SDG11 #cities
There are many ways to go #audio #podcast ! And, what a great way for more people to learn from @katharinehayhoe.com .
I'm absolutely a convert and ambassador for spreading the power of #podcasting for interviews, education and storytelling. Use the tool, folks! #LivingChange #ClimateInfluence
Excellent @thirdactcreatives.bsky.social - my new podcast #ClimateInfluence, in development, is one of those indie projects! It's a conversation series with heroic climate disruptors who show us how they led bold change without permission. Follows after my #LivingChange show. I intend to be at HCS
Speaking of #BikeSky - 1/2of my interviews for my #LivingChange #podcast were with local leaders (mayors / city council members etc) who themselves bike for transportation. THEY can have a bigger shift in building trust with constituents and shifting peer mindsets. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/l...
If you love streaming radio station #KEXP and think that John Richards (of Morning Show fame) could influence you - you'll love my #LivingChange #podcast interview with him; podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/p... #Music #ClimateInfluence #food
Same here. Also - veering toward #vegan #plantbased food = SO MUCH #ClimateInfluence ! My fave #LivingChange #podcast interview was with John Richards of KEXP on this topic: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/p...
This is a lot of what I talk about/give context to in my interviews with 6 N. American mayors/city council leaders in my #LivingChange #podcast. I'm now developing my second show on #ClimateInfluence ( #cities will be a part of it) podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/l...
My convo with her for #LivingChange #podcast: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/l... #cities #climate #leadership
"...the impact in American #cities, where most people live, will also have long-term political, and social implications."
Justin Worland, TIME re: #IRA feat. Mayor Barbara Buffaloe who I also interviewed for #LivingChange #podcast. | #Mayors #ClimateInfluence #Leadership time.com/7086090/clim...
If you are looking for U.S. #cities with leaders who are seen leading by riding a bike or eBike for local transportation, see the mayors and city council folks I interviewed for Season One of #LivingChange podcast, including Mark Gamba in #OR podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/b...
#bikes4climate also comes in the form of #eCargoBikes for last mile #delivery in #cities, something I'll be talking with the Urban Freight Lab (at U of Washington) for a #live #LivingChange #podcast recording this week at #Seattle WIT ( #tetch) Regatta (will drop in my feed by mid-May).
This is exactly my #NameAndFame approach and why I celebrate so many mayors and political leaders who pedal their talk on my #LivingChange #podcast. Leaders respond to love, and we need to get wiser about leveraging it. #ClimateInfluence
Yes! That’s what Ive long called the #NameAndFame approach to #ClimateInfluence . It appeals to hardened politicians - they like to be loved for their small steps, which will eventually get bigger. And that’s my aim with my #LivingChange #podcast interviews. Nudge more #politicalwill.
Excellent Marketplace story by Kristin Schwab. Love the
UW Urban Freight Lab quote. #eCargobikes as #lastmile #delivery is a BIG #ClimateInfluence topic. | I'm doing a live #LivingChange #podcast recording on it at
the WiT Regatta Tech conference, late April. www.marketplace.org/2024/03/21/p...
So would I. Id like to keep using my #LivingChange podcast and other platforms to #NameAndFame political leaders who *get* the power of #lesscar #transportation options for all. #ClimateInfluence
Seattle's amazing #music scene gets its due in Forbes with coverage of Life On Mars bar and KEXP.
My #LivingChange #podcast interview with bar owner, KEXP DJ John Richards = massive Climate Influence messaging from an "unusual suspect" on the plantbased food topic. www.forbes.com/sites/jonisw...
