Possibly the female flowers of #Lomandra micrantha! Male plants usually form big sprays of many flowers! So tiny and would almost have missed them if I wasn’t looking at a Cassytha near by!
Lomandra are an examples of a dioecious plant! Male flowers are often the most show while the female flowers are less so this is quit prominently shown by this #Lomandra nigricans! First time coming accross female flowers of the species!
What floor do you take the elevator too 🤔 #Lomandra nigricans always makes me think it’s some tall building for insects with its tiered inflorescence! This is a widespread species and its flowers are a bit more noticable than some species!
Oh what a show! #Lomandra micrantha subsp. micrantha! Small flowered but one mighty show! This species is common in the southwest, there are two subspecies in the tho, this subsp. has a more western distribution where as the other extend further east!
So many flowers! Gotta love the tiny show that Lomandra put on! A purple form of #Lomandra preissii I believe, a wild swing of colour forms this species is recorded having from green to purple! Though L. purpurea is also found in the area but this looks more similar to L. preissii 🤔
