My copy of the October 23 issue of the London Review of Books lays on a messy kitchen table. I’ve pushed the camera in tight from above to hide some of that. Lol I’ve also held the review with the cover folded down at an angle to show the title of the publication as well as the title and author of the review I’m posting about. That is “Fish in the Wrong Place” by Oliver Cussen.

The paper sits on a beige linen tablecloth and across a couple of tan, cloth placemats. A round wood revolving tray sits close by with Pothos propagations on it in a cobalt blue vessel. The leaves fill the top of frame close to camera. Strong morning light makes deep colors and deeper shadows in the image.

This was a fantastic read. 👍

#OperaThoughts "Salome" at Barbican: No dancing, yet captivating. Antonio Pappano and the LSO embraced Strauss's vivid storytelling in this concert. Asmik Grigorian shone as Salome, though longing to see her in a full stage. A night where music alone enraptured. #ClassicalMusic #LondonReview

Reading paraphernalia sits on a flaking metal patio table in natural light on an overcast day. They consist of the new issue of London Review of Books Vol 47 No 9 and a paperback copy of “To The Lighthouse” by Virginia Woolf. My sunglasses and a stubby pencil (because, yes, I make notes, bend corners, and buy cheap, used paperbacks… zero shame) lay on the pile. I’ve pulled a flower planter from the center of the table into the shot because it’s brimming with two shades of purple (one with more Fuchsia to it and the other a bluer tone) and I’m partial to ornamentation.

Ope, the sun came out writing this alt text.

Are you a monogamous reader, a multi-book reader, or somewhere in between? For myself, I move through seasons. This spring has me reading all the things at once. 🌺 📚 💙 💬 🌱
