Consultation on proposals to increase our registration fees We are consulting on the fees that nurses, midwives and nursing associates pay.

Important all UK nurses feedback. As a mental health nurse, I feel the NMC has no vision for the field, and would be happy to let it silently die. It is difficult for me to donate to a cause which I do not believe supports the work I do #MHDeservesBetter

Some educators claim these proficie...

Strengthening the mental health components of preregistration nursing programmes | British Journal of Nursing This article illustrates the solutions that one university has devised in terms of incorporating mental health field identity, relative to the Nursing and Midwifery Council standards of proficiency for registered nurses. Novel approaches were used to add mental health content to generic parts of the curriculum. There are also suggestions aimed at improving the experience of future students undertaking a preregistration mental health nursing education programme.

Pleased to see this new paper I Co-authored with the fabulous colleagues and team I led at EHU now in print doi.org/10.12968/bjo... how we proactively addressed some of the concerns relating to the dilution of MH nurse educative ⬇️ #MHDeservesBetter @danwarrender.bsky.social might be of interest

Push for RCN statement on preserving nursing specialties | Nursing Times Find out why the RCN Mental Health Forum is calling on the college to produce a statement backing nursing specialties.

I agree that the RCN desperately need to have a clear position on fields of nursing, recognising them as requiring specialist knowledge and skills. #MHDeservesBetter www.nursingtimes.net/mental-healt...

Often forgotten, a reminder of Mental Health Nurses on #InternationalNursesDay. Unique issues mean unique education is needed. A creeping genericism and adultification of education will not improve the quality of care. It will get worse. #MHDeservesBetter youtu.be/iBblQygAizs

RCN questions separation of mental health nurse training | Nursing Times Read about comments made by the Royal College of Nursing on mental health nurse training and the potential need for reforms.

I believe the RCN have put out a statement suggesting this is not the position. There are more conversations needed, as I have become skeptical and cynical over the years. If it were the RCN position, I would leave the union immediately. #MHDeservesBetter www.nursingtimes.net/education-an...
