addressed in my books "The #NewClimateWar" and "The #MadhouseEffect". Chapter on geoengineering from the latter available for free courtesy of @ncse.bsky.social: ncse.ngo/preview-madh....

I also discussed very briefly with Bill Maher some years ago 😉

There's ALWAYS a Toles cartoon

excerpt from the Madhouse Effect: Consider Steven J. Milloy, the self-avowed “junk man” who rails
against what he calls the “junk science” on DDT, ozone depletion, and
all matters of “environmental extremism” on his website junkscience.
com and in interviews and op-eds in conservative-leaning media
outlets.36
Like many of the deniers-for-hire, Milloy got his start in tobacco—
Philip Morris, to be precise.37 But he’s become an all-purpose environmental
critic. Consider the work he has done for Syngenta, a European
agrichemical company that markets pesticides known as neonicotinoids,
which have been implicated in colony collapse disorder,38 the mass die-off
of bee populations, including a shocking 42 percent die-off of honeybees
in the United States during 2014.39
Syngenta also markets a weed killer, atrazine, that has been linked
to the die-off of frogs. Milloy has received undisclosed sums of money
from Syngenta to be its mouthpiece on atrazine: an e-mail message from
Milloy to Syngenta’s corporate head of public relations in 2008 read,
“Beth Carroll said that you had some Atrazine talking points for me.
Would love to see them.”40
Milloy has also helped target Tyrone Hayes, a researcher at the
University of California, Berkeley, who has spent more than a decade
researching atrazine and has published work indicating that it causes
gender abnormalities in frogs exposed to doses even lower than the EPA
limits. Milloy has called Hayes a “Berserkeley atrazine-hater” and has
accused him of lying about his science. In a commentary titled “Freaky-
Frog Fraud,” he stated that “Hayes seems to be determined to scare the
public about atrazine.”41

And somehow, no matter where you look, "junk man" #SteveMilloy always seems to be there at the center (from The #MadhouseEffect):

Decided to require #MadhouseEffect for my Intro Physical Geography course, but not sure how to incorporate into class. Anyone else teach with it? Really love chapter on how #science works! @MichaelEMann #GEO121
