A manor park street (Braemar St) with no sidewalk and lots of snow making it inaccessible for many. A sign on a front yard says “No Sidewalks - Don’t Pave Paradise”. This road leads directly to Manor Park public School (about 300 metres ahead)

The #ManorPark sidewalk issue is not over yet…. still signs up in the snow!
It will come to @en.ottawa.ca Public Works &Infrastructure Committee in Feb - a staff report is expected.

A range of photos from the community event, including, a group of young people chatting in a circle, a large spread of food, a bouncy castle, a group of adults and children painting and creating craft, a video set up on a computer, old newsletters and flyers from Froud centre and a drawn and jewelled elephant craft.

One of the #NewVoicesForOldStories heritage projects was a youth-led #community event, celebrating 35 years of the Aston-Mansfield Community Centre (formerly Froud Centre).

The day echoed activities of the past to cater for children, young people and members of the community.

Today, we officially designated Ron Austin Memorial Park in #ManorPark. 🌳 Ron was a longtime public servant, ANC commissioner, and advocate who dedicated his life to improving the lives of neighbors.

We want to say a big thank you to our impromptu-interpreter and all the other wonderful members of our community who look out for one another.
