More stash busting today. I made some matching sweaters for my niece, nephew and the dog.

The waistband was stitched just in time for tea, so I have stopped for today. All that's left to do is the hemming, which I will crack on with tomorrow.

Once the pattern pieces had been stitched together, it was time to add the zipper.

I'm better at sewing zippers than I was, but there's still quite some faffing - unfortunately no photo documentatiom for that bit.

There is interfacing applied to the back centre seam to give strength and stability to the zipper that will be placed there.

I prepared the box pleats, added the pockets and stitched the pattern pieces together. This fabric is nice weight and drape so I'm hoping the finished culottes will be satisfyingly swishy.

After transferring all the pattern markings (and a few accidental extras that made for a somewhat confusing afternoon). I added interfacing to the waistband and also the seam where the zipper would go.

No spoons for a blow by blow account of today's adventures in #GarmentSewing, so enjoy this roundup.

Today, I cut out all my pattern pieces. Fortunately I had just enough for some ankle length culottes.

Mirror selfie of me wearing a toiled pair of ankle length culottes in a pretty stiff unbleached cotton. Is it cute? No. But it fits.

Team, good news. My aspirational toile from 2021 still fits.

I also totally forgot how satisfyingly deep the pockets on these are.

Alrighty. It's March. I have fabric in my stash I forgot existed. It's time for #MarchThroughYourStash2026.

Directing my stash busting efforts at this. The dog print french Terry I've had in my stash for 2 years and this blue polyester I actually had so long I can't remember when I got it.
