Today's Wednesday so it's Biscuits day yet again. A little less cohesive than I'd like today, probably a little drier than I should have made. I'm still making tiny adjustments to the by-heart recipe.

It's Wednesday so it's biscuits day. Today's are more savory than normal, garlic cheddar biscuits. The flecks are black pepper which gives a little kick. These were good, maybe I'll adjust a bit. #MarieBakes #BreakfastBake

Monday I had enough gumption for an experiment. Tried some breakfast savory rolls. These were sourdough with cheddar and needed much more cheddar and probably something else but they were perfectly nice rolls. #MarieBakes #BreakfastBake

Today's #MarieBakes #BreakfastBake is sourdough discard pancakes! These get their fluff from the baking soda and the acidity of the discard reacting. Chemistry! They came out okay today.

Well, not all the #MarieBakes #BreakfastBakes can be winners. Couldn't remember my sourdough biscuit recipe from memory and found one that was questionable I guess. That and the partial-rye starter made these meh. Will try and find my good recipe next week. We were -2 people and I was eepy.

Today's #MarieBakes #BreakfastBake is sourdough biscuits and I'm pretty sure I have found a recipe that I really like for this. Baking by feel for this has gone pretty well too, after getting the basic ratios right.

This morning's #MarieBakes #BreakfastBakes were the traditional biscuits. A new recipe with self rising flour which meant the recipe needed some adjustments.

This morning's #MarieBakes #BreakfastBake is a sourdough boule! Well, partially-sourdough boule - I added some yeast to the dough after our end-of-weekend starter wasn't active enough. It came out okay anyway but I hope I can be without extra yeast next week.

Today we're back in Rhode Island, for better or for worse, and I forgot to ice our sourdough before we left so I was sad. Will need to start another one. So #MarieBakes #BreakfastBake was Gougéres. I missed making choux.

It's one of my more favorite breakfast bakes, but does usually only happen when I'm awake early since it requires a 30 min cool down. #MarieBakes #BreakfastBake this morning is Blueberry Corn Coffee Cake.

We have an excellent yard maintenance person who keyed us into planting Winter Rye as a cover crop to crowd out undesirables like bittersweet and such. It's been interesting to watch it over the seasons and it looks ready to harvest!
