Barren Brome (Anisantha sterilis) not appreciated in my garden but silkily pretty around #MarketWeston. In contrast, we positively encourage Bladder Campion (Silene vulgaris), now out.

Again, hats off to @SuffolkWildlife. Seeing the incredible rich patchwork of #MarketWeston Fen, the last true remnant, makes one weep gut-wrenchingly for what has been lost. And Purple Hairstreaks on the overlooking oaks to boot. Also my 1st Devil's Bit Scabious of the season.
Hard to think of a more charming fen than #MarketWeston: love the neat cushions of Marsh Pennywort stitched with delicate Bog Pimpernel, Marsh Arrowgrass providing the perfect vertical, ragged Ragged Robin still just in bloom, Grass of Parnassus flowers over but plenty of leaves
Handsome Marsh Thistles guarding the edge of Market Weston Fen, peacock butterflies just loving that fresh, Hemp Agrimony. What a relief at last to find a place near us where it still squidges underfoot - even the pingos have a bit of standing water. #MarketWeston #WildFowerHour
