I posted some of the early scenes for #MelsNoWriMo Sunday snippets, plus a bonus comic version of the story I made, if you're interested. We got to shortly before Meg learns that she's in reverse.
#MelsNoWriMo 30: Thank you @mslanna.bsky.social for hosting this this month!
I wrote a nonzero amount this month. I finished a book. I hosted a prompt game thing. We'll say that's good.
And here's your next #InReverse snippet. Meg discovers a hidden message on a whiteboard. (1/3)
Day 30 #MelsNoWriMo You Did It! Goals achieved and final snippet.
I finished my dev edits earlier this month and I'm extremely proud of the MS I handed in! (Except I think I have a continuity error right at the end. I'll fix it next pass.)
Final snippet is a line that made me cry. (Spoilers)
A simple golden Frame on a light pinkish background. In the middle of the frame is the MelsNoWriMo question of the day. Today's question is: You Did it! Talk about goals you achieved and hand over a final snippet. π
You have reached the end of #MelsNoWriMo! π₯³
Congratulations. And thank you for your understanding when my life/spoons were not able to keep up. π₯°
So, did you achieve any/all goals? Wanna post one last snippet?
#MelsNoWriMo 29: I did make cover mockups for #TheDragonblood and #ThroughTheCracks. I don't know if they'll be the designs I go with in the end, though. The one for Through the Cracks was my creative project for #Septopolis, which I later thought might work as a cover and stuck a title on.

Day 29 #MelsNoWriMo Ideas for your dream cover.
Ooh, I actually went through this for reals. I don't have my cover yet, and I'm going to hold off on speaking about it so I don't jinx anything.
A simple golden Frame on a light pinkish background. In the middle of the frame is the MelsNoWriMo question of the day. Today's question is: Ideas for your dream cover? π
Almost there...
Do you have ideas or wishes for the cover of your story? Did you make a mock-up, maybe??? π
#MelsNoWriMo
(sorry, pretty dead and doing my best to simply stay afloat rn)
They name themselves.
I had to wait like... uh... maybe 15 years for KrzyΕ to tell me not only his name but his nationality (he's Polish).
I tried to give him a name for so long but he said no.
Tamsyn still won't tell me her real name, so she just goes by her alias π€·
#MelsNoWriMo
usually they show up with names, but if they don't I scroll census data and/or baby name sites until something jumps out at me
#MelsNoWriMo
#MelsNoWriMo 28: I've certainly thought about it. Especially for In Reverse, which I think would be really cool to see as a movie.
#TheDragonblood would be best shot on location. England for the parts on Earth, mostly Slovakia and surroundings for the parts in the magical world. (1/2)
A simple golden Frame on a light pinkish background. In the middle of the frame is the MelsNoWriMo question of the day. Today's question is: If you got to turn your novel into a movie, where would you shoot? πΊ
A dream for many writers: having your novel turned into a movie/series. Ever thought about it?

Day 28 #MelsNoWriMo Turn your novel into a movie, where would you shoot?
Omaha, Nebraska. It might get a little tough as Corey's version of Omaha is closer to the 1980s/90s with most (not all) locations referencing them. Some still exist, but many don't.
#MelsNoWriMo Aw, feel better soon, Mel!
I have a playlist but these two songs are my current favorites.

Apologies to the other #MelsNoWriMo s. Am somewhat sick and desire only sleep. Will muscle through the last days. Promise.
Maybe with a few fresh tunes from your playlist?

You betcha! Two links, depending on the listener's prefered app:

#MelsNoWriMo 26: Generally speaking, for characters with regular Earth names, I kind of just go through names until I find something I like. I don't usually try for any sort of name symbolism unless there's an in-world reason for it. (1/6)
#MelsNoWriMo Ninety percent vibes and ten percent research. When I don't have a clue I grab letters from a scrabble bag.

Day 26 #MelsNoWriMo How do you name your characters?
Nina's name came from an anagram generator because her original name got used in a very famous book published 15 years or more after I thought of it, and I didn't want to look like I was copying.
I MEAN THIS HAPPENED.
I didn't plan this

although tonight I have opened MarthaWIP again which is like a whole new twist. will I see anything through?? will I cycle between projects, writing 100 words at a time, for the rest of my life?? I'M ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT

Day 25 #MelsNoWriMo If your story was a food/meal, what would it be?
Food plays an important role in Worlds Divide. I think the food it would be is deeply personal to the reader. It would be something home cooked reminding you of someone beloved who you lost long ago.
#MelsNoWriMo 24
The latest draft of #TheDragonblood has had a few elements thrown in that I came up with on the spot and hadn't appeared in previous drafts.
For example, there's a scene where the main characters run into some fairies that's entirely new. (1/7)

I thought I knew this story so well since it's been with me for so long. This story wasn't meant to have a character in it, but he always bursts in like BigBirdKickingDownDoor.gif

Day 24
Shapeshifting gambler and con artist Takvol was originally somewhat of a throw away side character who only got page time in the past tense. I never expected him to return later into a prominent role.
A simple golden Frame on a light pinkish background. In the middle of the frame is the MelsNoWriMo question of the day. Today's question is: Twist/something in your story you didn't see coming? π΅
I am back for #MelsNoWriMo and see you had fun without me. Yay. That's the plan.
So for today, was there something in your story that caught you by surprise? A plot twist, character trait, the Spanish Inquisition?
#MelsNoWriMo Best joke of the day: Not a joke.
Ryan took the file back and started reading it. His face gradually went very pale. When he looked up again a minute later, Jeff smiled at him.
"Little tip for you, son: when the military gives you something to read, read it."

#InReverse: Continuing from last week, Meg ends up back at the place where she was shot and watches it all unfold again. But she hasn't figured out that she's in reverse, yet, and assumes it's her sister. Nothing is adding up, but she hasn't had a chance to process.
The cover for Into the Drowning Deep with the line "Between lines about people-eating Sirens, I slipped."

Day 23 #MelsNoWriMo Snippet time!
Today's snippet is from somewhere in the middle of my story. It references a book I was reading during one of my rewrites and edits. Mira Grant (Seanan McGuire) is one of my favorite authors. I like paying her homage by referencing one of her books, however oblique
