Striped marsh frog from above.. Frog rests on small pebbles in a moist environment.
One of the resident striped marsh #frogs poking out from under a small log in my garden.
I created a few frog friendly #microhabitats and whaddya know, the frogs turned up.
🌱 Finally, a sowing experiment was carried out in these preferred #microhabitats to assess germination and survival rates, and to test whether rodents act as true forest gardeners.
Bugs are in trouble, and our yards are part of the answer!🍂 ➡
If each of us — you, your neighbor, your friend down the block — takes a step, that adds up to a lot.

Remember monarch butterflies? You used to see them flitting everywhere all summer long, but numbers are dwindling. Help us restore butterfly populations.

Plwase leave streams as you found them. Stacking rocks and moving stones destroys fish nests, disturbs aquatic insects, and wrecks critical microhabitats. 🏞️ 🪨 🐠 A balanced stream takes years to form- don't undo it in an afternoon. ⏳️ 🏞️ 🚫
