Combining VIC and SA, there were 0.38 fledglings/pair, which almost met our recovery target of 0.4 fledglings/pair for #HoodedPlover population maintenance!

Outside the predator-exclusion zone, 2 out of 7 nests were lost to fox predation and some nests were disturbed by off-leash dogs. Human disturbance was detected inside the exclusion zone.

We're busy crunching the numbers of the season! Good news from the Yorke Peninsula #HoodedPlovers!
With 20 fledglings from the 26 pairs that were monitored, this has been the best season for the Yorke's hoodies since the monitoring began 8 years ago!

The bird, XT White (right) now, flew straight to its family after being released & walked on its sore foot, meaning it'll have a better chance to escape from predators!
