Well, my garden is mainly for critters.
You could say that the small #minimeadow (indeed with clumps left overwinter) is ironically the most purposely ‘cultivated’ area!

Common/soft rush, field wood-rush, pendulous sedge by the #wildflower #minimeadow , and a wavy Yorkshire-fog clump all in the garden this afternoon

(toad rush here too, but can’t find any!)

Yellow rattle flowering in my mini-meadow! It's taken three years to really establish. I wonder if the drought has helped it a bit as the grass is considerably weakened this year. #allotment #allotmentGarden #meadow #minimeadow #yellowrattle #wildflower

Doesn’t look much, but garden #wildflower #minimeadow now warming up for its 7th season: knapweed campion oxeyes bf-trefoil leading; mdw buttercup&vetchling ldy-bdstrw & yarrow catching up; cat’s ears rattle etc etc just starting to get going.
… feeling quite paternal 😍
This summer half of our little garden lawn will remain un-mown. Nature takes hold so quickly if you just give it a chance, got a nice flush of daisies going on at the moment. What’s not to like ?! 🌞#minimeadow
