MISS KING - 8.5/10
Loved the concept. Gave me vibes of Queen’s Gambit & one of those tournament anime. The FL was great. The drama did go a little dark in parts. Loved that the female characters were highlighted. It needed 2 more eps. The last ep was not what I was expecting.

Non was perfect for the role of Kunimi Asuka; the emotions she portrayed felt very natural and realistic. Fujiki Naohito also did a great job as Todou Seigo, but all I could see was his character from #GlassHeart. Not quite the revenge I was hoping for, but it was enough. #MissKing #jdrama

A daughter seeks revenge against her selfish, shogi-obsessed father, climbing the ranks to defeat him at his own game. Reaching the final boss that quickly was surprising. Excellent cinematography and sound; enough to make the shogi scenes seem suspenseful and interesting. 9/10.

D24: Favourite Costumes of 2025
There were plenty of great costumes from all the #kdrama I watched this year, but the one that somehow stuck with me was Kunimi Asuka's all-black "battle armour" for her final match in the #jdrama #MissKing; Non was ABSOLUTELY mesmerizing in this.

I was familiar with most of the actresses I watched this year, so let's go with REdiscovered: Japanese actress Non from jdrama #MissKing. Loved her prickly, combative, deeply bereft performance as a gifted shōgi player with daddy issues.

9.25/10 for #jDrama #MissKing - I was going to give it 8.5 or so but its delightfully unconventional end for both a sports Drama and a family revenge Drama saw it get bumped way up.

Into episode 2/8 of #jDrama #MissKing and it is REALLY good so far. I am glad I watched #HouteiNoDragon a couple of months ago. A light, fun mystery/legal series built around shogi, it explained the game well. That's been very helpful as so far there has been no explanation of shogi in #MissKing

#MissKing was my first exposure to Non, so as like my other crushes, obviously I added her IG to my follow list.

In all seriousness, slight dip at the end but overall a great watch.
#MissKing was everything I wanted it to be from the trailer.
It's unfortunate that the runtime was shorter than I'm used to, but in a typical #jdrama strength, everything was wrapped up beautifully.
I'm satisfied nevertheless.
