While the story or Romeo and Juliet is fictional, there were actually Montagu and Capulet (Montecchi and Ceappelitti) families in Verona. In the 19th Century, the then owner of the Capulet house installed a balcony and called it the "Juliet balcony." It's still there today as a tourist trap.
