In 1862 #PresidentAbrahamLincoln signed the #MorrillAct into law, seizing 11M acres of Indigenous land to fund a network of our present #landgrantcolleges, one per state. These schools today retain rights to nearly 689K acres of land, twice the size of LosAngeles.
