We did a trap last night, only 1 moth. It was a new one for us, a December Moth.

I spotted this moth in my garden this week. Hadn't seen one before. Turns out it's a boxwoodmoth. Him and his friends have pretty much destroyed my garden in just one season. As you can imagine I have complex feelings about him

Not been mothing for a couple of weeks. Sat in my garden today and spotted 2 new species for the garden. An orange Swift and an Old Lady. Definitely putting the trap out tonight.

Last nights mothing was amazing again. Had the trap out in the orchard near Bridgwater/Somerset and at midnight we counted over 60 different species of moths! Plus some interesting non-moth trap intruders. #MothUK , #WildlifeUK , #NatureUK , #Invertebrates

I believe this is an Old Lady moth caterpillar. It just looks brown until you zoom in and see the most beautiful iridescent red spots.
